Hello Neighbor,
We are looking ahead to 2022, and ready to make an impact as we stand up for secure, abundant homes for everyone in the Twin Cities. And we could use your help as a volunteer this year!
Check out our upcoming opportunities to take action, and email NeighborsForMoreNeighbors@gmail.com if you want to learn more or sign-up.
Opportunities:
- Apply to be a volunteer support consultant. This is a part-time paid role to help recruit and manage volunteers and build our overall capacity. If you are interested, please see the job description for more information.
- Organize meetings with Council Members. With the new Minneapolis City Council seated, we have been setting up meetings with Council Members to talk about our mission and values and how our work fits with their legislative priorities. The meetings have been going very well, and we are excited to do more. We are looking for people who can help us make connections and organize meetings with the remaining Council Members: LaTrisha Vetaw (Ward 4), Jamal Osman (Ward 6), Andrea Jenkins (Ward 8), Andrew Johnson (Ward 12), and Linea Palmisano (Ward 13).
- Take action with our zoning task force. Minneapolis is in the implementation stage of the 2040 Plan, which means that there will be important changes to the zoning code made this year. Our zoning task force is currently working to identify zoning changes we want to advocate for, and how best to organize our efforts. Let us know if you’d like to help: there will certainly be volunteer opportunities coming to organize, write, activate, attend and more.
- Join the Events Committee. Our member socials are great times for us to meet our neighbors and friends, and we’re looking for 1-2 people who can help organize them.
Reply to this email if you are ready to take action on any of these opportunities!
Lastly: have you moved in the last few years? We’d love to get your updated Ward information so we can share opportunities to take action in your neighborhood.
Thanks,
Your Friendly n4mn Volunteers
